  • Interface completely black when opening C4D

I installed C4D 10 on my Mac OS X about 2 months ago. It was working great, no problems. A few weeks ago, for no apparent reason, it started acting weird. When I open the program, all the text and icons on the interface are completely black, and I cannot read or see anything other than the actual rendering screen. I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling several times, but nothing is fixing this error.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this, and how I can correct it?

    Thank you!

I had this problem a while back and actually solved it for Maxon!

Hopefully this will fix it for you as well… go into your system preferences and then “Displays” then click on “Color” and switch your screen to a different profile. That should do the trick.

Let me know if it works!

Fantastic!! SO glad to hear it worked! You have NO idea what I went through before I accidentally fixed it with the color calibration. I was on the phone with Maxon, message boards, tried re-installing C4D, new user account in OSX.

Its very nice to know everything I went through was able to help someone else out too.

Not the first time that an old Cow post has shown up as the first result in Google and solved something utterly mystifying for me. Thank you!
