“Out of Memory” on Windows 32bit with 4gb Ram
Hi there,
I am runnings Windows XP 32bit on a Intel Quad 2.4, 256mb Geforce and 4 gig DDR2 ram. Cinema 4d V10.
I have a simple scene with a big map of the UK, 4000×4000 polygons wide with 3-4 essential 4096×4096 textures layered on it.
When I come to render I get the classic “Out of Memory” error. Our G5 macs with 4gb Ram have no problems rendering the scene.I’ve had this same error with different projects, so need to get it sorted.
I was just wondering what my options are with windows?
Should I upgrade to windows 64bit? I’ve seen tutorials for Windows to allow programs to utilize more than 2gb but it looks risky.
Anyone out there who can point me in the right direction?
Many thanks,
Dave
