    Hi, folks-

I’ve researched the posts here regarding my problem and I just want to make sure I have this right.

I have a scene with several objects spinning on a floor. I apply DOF, and it looks great in C4D, however, when I bring that Targa sequence in After Effects for compositing, the alpha channel has hard edges and doesn’t follow the DOF blurring at all. Is this true that this is a limitation in C4D??

    Thanks!
    Jason

Won’t go to all the details as I don’t remember 100% what I did, but…
Output the DOF to separate image sequence, and use it to blur the ALPHA image sequence.
Load the edited ALPHA – and you are done!

However, only using “rear blur” will work with correct display of the alpha channel. Sometimes this will meet the desired effect.
