  • RENDERING DEPTH IN MULTIPASS

    Hi,
Here is a question about multi-pass rendering.
Im tryng to render separately the depth channel in multipass, when I see the depth channel in the picture viewer looks perfect, but if I try to open a depth frame in photoshop, I get a full black frame, therefore I cant assign blur values in after effects. Can anybody tell me what I’m doing wrong?
    Thanks

if you saved a depth channel only image you get black because you didn’t include any image layers but the depth is still there in the alpha channel (assuming you saved as a .psd)

Like Brian said, if you choose PSD as format, some passes will get saved in the channels rather than as extra layers. A bit useless for AE, so you may wish to use separate images for each pass (disable “Save Multilayer file”).
