Activity Forums Maxon Cinema 4D AE Integration?

    ok, so I saved my project in cinema 4d to a .aec file, but after effects 7 won’t let me import it. When I go to the import menu, it’s greyed out. Any sugguestions? thanks!

    Copy the AE 6.5 plugin from your Maxon>Exchange Plugins folder to your AE plugins folder.

    Also, when I import this into AE, it makes the comp, but the actual file is jsut a picture of color bars.. do I need to rener it? if so, how?!

    Yes, you have to render–otherwise there’s nothing for AE to display, right?

    id “render view” the same as a normal render, or is a render more like an export? and a render view is like a single frame render? sorry I’m a newbie.

    Render editor view is a still frame–used for test rendering. It’s very similar to the Picture Viewer render, but some parametric objects give you options for using lower quality for editor rendering. The hyperNURBS object is the big one to keep an eye on there.

    Rendering to the Picture Viewer gives you the ability to export, whether to still frames or movie files.
