  Render Shadows Only

  Is there a way in Cinema to restrict the renderer to only output shadows?

  Im rendering a scene where I have a butterfly flying around….but I will be compositing it on top of a static background/floor in After Effects.

  Im thinking I can just output a render of the groundplane in pure white with the shadow on it and then use “multiply” in Aftereffects to have the shadow overlay on the ground plane.

  Any help is much appreciated…

  If you uncheck “seen by camera” you won’t get any shadows. Instead, check “compositing background”. That, or enable multipass and add a shadow pass.
