Hi! I’m new to CC.net and know that this topic has been posted before, but that thread didn’t help me very much. I was wondering if anyone could point me to a tutorial (or give me a brief run-through) of how I can go about generating an entire field from a single blade of grass. I tried using Particular with custom particles but the effect was very, uh, generic. Plus Particular doesn’t allow me to use lights with anything other than smokelet particles (correct me if I’m wrong), so the grass looks flat. If I so much as change the camera angle, the grass immediately looks fake because the light/shadows don’t follow. Any and all help would be appreciated.

    Hi Jesse.

There is a resource you could purchase to help you. Making it look Great 3 with Harry Frank (www.makingitlookgreat.com) runs through a great way of making 3d looking grass using the CC hair effect in after effects.
