If I have a B-Spline or Akima… 3 points… Creating a rope. I move the two end points closer to each other and then further away. The rope “hangs” down in the middle between the two points.

Is there a way to restrict the “length” of the rope so that the “hang” adjusts depending on how close or far the end points are.

I can animate the mid point but I would love to be able to have real physics come into play here.

I hope I have explained this clearly.

    Thanks

Why don’t you use Soft IK with Dynamics enabled and this, if I understand what your looking for, should give you fairly realistic results. I used the same idea to create a full hair simulation.
