Does anyone know of a way to create a mercator map from an image file. I am trying to texture (bumpmap) a basketball, and cannot figure out how to convert my texture file into a mercator. I have searched high and low, and am just about at my wits end. Someone save me please. Thank you in advance for any advice one may have for me.

Sorry I dont really understand your problem.

If you only have a photograph of a round basketball you will not have enough information for a Mercator projection.

If OTOH you already have a mercator (just like a rectangler grid thing) that you want to map to the sphere set your mapping prjection type to ‘sphere’ in the texture tag.

    Dont know whether this helps.
