    Hi,
I’m building a city in cinema and i’m trying to have each building buildup on its own like lego as the camera is passing through. So all the pieces fly up from the ground and build up the building structure. Is there a filter, plug-in or any easier way than breaking down each piece in the polygon and animating it individually? please help thanks in advance.

You could build the city wih simple shapes then instance Lego type objects to the points of this simple geometry. Then have dynamic forces act on them so they fall to the ground. Bake the keys then play backwards.

I’m using all pre-built models that i bought online. so the geometry are grouped together as one piece. I tried looking for dynamic force, but i don’t see it from the dynamics menu under plugins. is it a aftermarket plug-in? where can i find dynamic force? thank you for ur help

Dynamics is a module for C4D. But the built in particles have some forces.

Dynamic forces are the forces available in C4D that act on things called Gravity, Wind, etc…

You could also just shatter the city and reverse that. It won’t give you lego like blocks, but it will be a lot easier.

There are two deformers that give you explosion/shatter effects, you may at least want to try both of those and see if they will suit your needs first before the much more complicated use of particles/dynamics/instancing approach.

thank you so much chris, you’r info is extremely helpful. I just have one last question. I think shatter will do just fine. but I’m trying to find it in dymnamics and plug-ins, but i don’t see it. where do i find the shatter effect? thank you

    Hi Chris,
nevermind, i got it! I found the shatter under Objects -> deformation. Thank you so much, you’ve been a lot of help.

That’s it. There’s another deformer that also does explosion effects as well so play with that as well.
