spline newbie question
Posted by Tim Crean on June 21, 2005 at 7:44 pmok. how do i simply edit 2 splines together to form 1? i want to join the end of one with the midpoint of another – not end to end. imagine a divining rod or fork in the road. simple tree branch.
anyone?
thanks in advance….

June 22, 2005 at 3:55 pmok – i can see how the ends will join, but that doesn’t help me if i want a spline to branch into 2 ends. i need to join a end point to a point somewhere in the MIDDLE of the other spline. like this
–< does that make any sense or am i misunderstanding something? thanks for the response and any further input is greatly appreciated!!!!!! tc

June 22, 2005 at 5:07 pmUnfortunately, splines can’t branch like that. Neither can paths in Illustrator or masks in After Effects for that matter. You’re left using snap settings to put two splines carefully together. This is a common task among people who make trees or blood veins.
Being able to branch would be a massive step forward imo.
Samir (a moderator above) makes a plugin called DPIT which makes trees by arranging splines into a branching pattern, as does Greenworks.
