OK, now I have a new pet peeve: People taking flash photos of the eclipse. Doing so at concerts was stupid enough, but REALLY………? Just because your smart phone has a camera doesn’t mean that you have a smart BRAIN. (Sorry, long, hot and especially exhausting shoot today. Should never have looked at YouTube.)

You guys make it sound like they did it on purpose — thought carefully about how their phones should be set for optimum performance in these specific conditions — which would imply that they had any awareness whatsoever of their camera settings, and/or how to change them, and/or why all-Auto Focus/Auto Flash, all the time might be something worth thinking about adjusting, plus some kind of understanding of why some specific adjustments might be better than others.

I’m not sure most people even know that these things CAN be adjusted….on top of those other factors (what, how, why, etc.). That seems like a lot to expect a civilian to keep up with.

Not to suggest that you should be any less annoyed by them. ????
