  Standards chaos — just for a laugh

  Just thought I’d share something for a Thanksgiving week laugh….

  I would normally never take a picture of my TV, but something happened a couple of nights ago that had me scrambling to whip out my phone and snap a pic…

  I was watching something with one eye, I don’t even remember what, and the following thing happened during a commercial…. if my math is right that is letterboxing inside pillarboxing inside a letterbox/pillarbox combo inside still more pillarboxing….

  

  Keep in mind there is no cable voodoo going on there, that is a direct off air signal.

  I know, sometimes you see weird formatting, especially on one of a station’s subchannels (which this was), but seriously, people!….

  I know how we can save a BUNCH of money at our TV station…
  Lets replace all those expensive engineers with kids who’ll work really cheap!
