  Seperating Field Troubles

  I have posted a zip file with a few video examples of the trouble Im having.

  The whole video appears to jitter everytime.
  Only by about 1 pixel tho, so not enough to stabalize.
  yet its just enough to make it noticable when I add stuff in after effects.
  Yet if I turn the seperate fields OFF,..it stops jittering..but you get the jaggey video with motion.
  I’m stumped

  you might try frame blending (frame mix)… set the correct order for field separation (you might try enabling the ‘preserve edges’ option too), then drop the footage into a comp and choose layer>frame blending>frame mix…

  this will take the image data from the field that you are losing and mix it with the image data of the other field and hopefully stop the ‘jumping’ in the frame. one note, since it is blending the image data, depending on the motion and footage, some of the frames may appear to have a double-image-like effect. it usually just looks like motion blur, but if the movement is fast, it may be a bit distracting….
