My understanding is that the producer of a film must sign all the union agreements and contracts but the producer/line producer/poc can secure clearances and releases. In terms of legality no one else can sign off on these forms? For example, what if you designate someone as the product placement supervisor.. they are not allowed to sign the clearances or release forms then, correct? If this is true once they work out a product placement deal they would have to go to the producer/line producer/poc and have them sign the release on behalf of the film production company. Am I understanding this correctly or is it possible to authorize other crew members to sign off on clearances and releases? Thanks, Ryan
