    Anyone know what this means?!?

AE keeps crashing constantly when I’m scrubbing around a timeline. I’ve only got like 5-6 layers set to QTR res and draft everything. I keep getting the ‘unexpected failure’ message then AE shuts down.

The report yields nothing I can understand but it does says this at the start: –

    Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
    Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000000

Can anyone help? This is driving me up the wall!!!!

    Thanks.

Hi Dave, these are all animation or MJPEGB QT movs *I think*…will check tomorrow morning. It’s bizarre..one minute the exact same bit of the timeline will play/scrub fine…the next this happens. I thought it might be a network bottleneck..but it’s done it when there’s only me accessing the Xserve via 1GigE, so can’t be that. Hmm…will check that codec thing though Dave, thanks.

I have one clip at h.264 and one is Sorenson 3 (these are lo-res placeholder clips downloaded from image libraries) but annoyingly they’re not in the part of the timeline that is crashing!

    Anymore thoughts Dave/All?!?
