Loading in footage at 29.97, exports at 23.98! This is no good, please help!
Hi there,
I’m working on my first HD project with a new Sony HVR-A1U. I’ve run into a problem…
I’m capturing into FCP then exporting to After Effects for green screen compositing. Captured and Exported using the HDV 1080i60 codec, although I’ve also tried using the Apple Intermediate codec.
Exports fine from FCP, the resulting quicktime file is the correct dimensions and framerate (29.97). I composite and run through After Effects using the same settings (I think, everywhere says HDV 1080i and 29.97 fps). I’m using Export through Quicktime btw.
Once I load the composite file back into FCP, I find it’s 23.98 fps, with the following issues= 1) it’s a few frames shorter, and video seems to actually play slower. 2) Audio is way ahead of the video.
Why won’t it work properly? Why am I getting this issue? I’ve already captured twice and exported numerous times, and every time it’s the same, and an web search has turned up nothing to fix it. Please help, I’m running out of time and patience!
