  Applying half tone effect to key channel only

  Working on Media Composer 6.5.2 on PC (Windows 7) with BCC 8.0 effects. I have two video layers; the bottom layer is the background and the second, top layer is a keyed over graphic.

  When I apply the BCC half-tone effect to the second layer key, it effects both video layers. I only want it to effect the top layer.
  I’ve tried changing various parameters but still cannot obtain the correct result.

  Any suggestions? TIA

  Hi Jeffrey-
  Try holding the alt key when you apply the clip so you’re applying it to the Title Matte on your second layer. If that doesn’t work you can try using the Pixel Chooser parameter in Half Tone to apply only to the alpha channel.
