    Simple? BCC plus Avid Question

    I’ve created two filler layers in Avid MC and applied a Lens Flare Advanced Effect to them.
    When I export a QT reference, all I get is black video.
    Why is this? In Avid, must their be video underneath? And what if I want the Lens Flare Effect to include an Alpha so that I can use it with transparency in After Effects?

    I apologize for the rather simple question, but one must start somewhere, right?

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,

    This sounds like an OpenGl related issue. Can you please send me the versions of the Avid MC and BCC along with the machine specs that you are using please? Once I have that information I’ll bring this to our engineering dept to see if they understand why this is happening.

    Thanks for the reply. I am in class all this week from 9-6pm, so I’ll gather this information when i get home. I know that BCC is 4.1 and MC is 2.6.2.

    Peter,

    Turns out, I downloaded and burned MC version 2.6.3 and .4 but never installed them. I now remember reading that Boris Filters are broken in 2.6.4 in an Avid forum thread, and backed away. Can you validate this?

    SO, I have VERSION 2.6.0.
    I have BCC 4.1, will they stop working under 2.6.4?

    Currently I am not having any serious issues with 2.6, but I know some Avid issues do exist.

    I will switch to my other Avid PC, to post the DXDiag information.
