I’m having trouble with rendering a project. While it’s rendering, the layer blanks on and off, but only the lower half of the layer. THe background doesn’t do it. The layer blanking in and out shows up on the final output also.

Specs: AMD dual core 4000 2Gigs RAM on-board graphics. I seem to get a lot of open GL, cannot render output at something, something resolution. I’m shopping for s video card. Can all of these problems be caused by on-board graphics?

    Thanks,
    Phil

I have had similar problems. Is this a 3D comp? Try changing the stacking order of the layers.

Steve, No it’s not a 3D layer or project. Besides, it’s only one layer and a background. I am using the blur filter that creates light rays. Fractal blur I think. It’s not Trapcode shine, but the AE filter like it. I’m using AE 7.0 Pro by the way.

    Hi,

Is it possible that the problem may stem from a corrupted source file?

When I have problems like this, I often render the offending material to a tiff file sequence and then re-import that, using the file sequence instead of the potentially corrupt video. If there is a problem in the original source, turning it into a sequence of images is a good way of getting rid of embedded errors.

    Hope this helps,

    Lars
