    Hi!

I’m working on a project with friends and we’re stuck with a scene where a character followed by strangers starts running away and suddenly gets in a blind alley in a game-like environment. Now we’d like the back brick wall to disappear from the scene… We don’t know how to do it. We were thinking about the bricks scale to 0 but we don’t know how to start.

    Thx!

It’s not clear whether you’re talking about something that was shot live action or something that was produced in AE. Also, the way you would achieve the brick wall disappearing depends entirely on how you want it to disappear… Should it be a digital looking effect? Should it explode into pieces? Should it just fade away?

There are a lot of options, it really depends on how your footage is set up now (live or AE?) and what you want it to look like (cartoony? realistic? video-game stylized?). The more specific you can get the better off you’ll be.

It’s a live action scene. It should look digital still having a realistic tone.
There are no bricks in the actual scene as they would be added digitally (probably 3D). They could be getting smaller and smaller an disappearing into nothing.
We didn’t use green screen so there will probably a lot of rotoscoping.

This short movie is a low-budget (read: no-budget) production so unfortunately I can’t save any money. 😀

We have shot two versions of this scene. One has a static camera and the other one has a slowly panning camera.
