  • change the color of a shadow pass?

Ok – I’m sure this has to be a simple thing but I’m at a loss here. I have rendered out a shadow pass for an animation (a series of TGA files). Now, they have been rendered out as (varying shades of) black. I would like to change them all to red. In photoshop I would just select the alpha and fill it with red. What is the AE equivalent to that?

I have a PS action that is batch converting every single frame now – but I will have to do this a whole lot more in the near future so an AE solution would be great. Thanks.

You can use Effect > Generate > Fill to fill a layer with a color… The alpha is preserved.

ugh – so simple. Thank you so much. Do you have any idea how long it takes to fill 3600 frames in photoshop? FOREVER.
