  Filming the sunrise with Panasonic AG-HPX170

  Hello,

  I was hoping to get some advice regarding filming the sunrise. I’ve tried it a couple of times,
  the problems that I encountered was that when in AUTO, the Iris adjusts to the light changes, but then the Manual Focus fails to stay locked and keeps trying to autofocus.

  I suspect that this would be fixed if I turn to MANUAL.

  The problem arising from such a thing is the iris being set as to accomodate such a big change in lighting (from complete dark to light). The first minutes of sunrise are what interests me. Meaning, when the sun is still orange and you can look directly at it for a bit.

  Thoughts :
  Is there a setting on this camera that allows me to set boundaries to how much the iris closes-opens?
  If so, would this be helpful?

  Would a polarizing filter make any difference ?

  Is there a manual focus lock?

  Any other advice?
