  Lower Third General Question

  When designing a “lower third” graphic, do you professionals out there typically create it at a higher resolution than you need, and then scale it down to fit the video?

  I created a comp with the NTSC DV settings, and just designed the graphic at the bottom of the screen. I’m just wondering if that was the “proper” way to handle it, or if I should have created a comp that was the size of the graphic or something like that.

  Nope. Why would we create it at a higher resolution?

  Presupposedly you would create a lower-third aston
  at a higher res than required to future-proof it
  for an expected jump to a HD workflow?

  Always remember to frame your astons for 14:9
  nowadays, not 16:9. Here’s a guide.
