  • tracking a moving clip – why is it offset?

I’ve got a clip of a bus which moves and I’ve done track motion to it and applied it to a new artwork layer, but when it comes to the new artwork, which is supposed to cover the existing number on the bus, it appears offset by quite a large margin. What am i doing wrong and how do i fix it? Anyone know? I’ll admit I’m a a beginner!

    try this:

    1. track the motion of the bus sign you want to replace turning on position and rotation.
    2. apply the track data to a new null object layer.
    3. alt-click on the position of you replacement image and pickwip it to the position of the null object layer.

Your new replacement layer should now track with you original footage

    Good luck
