Hey all, first time poster, long time lurker.

I’ve noticed this in other peoples work and in my own on occasion. From time to time I will have to do some graphics in photoshop and bring them into my timeline (running FCP7). Ill bring them in as PNGs to keep bg transparency, but when i lay it atop the video, I notice the video goes down in quality for the time that the image is playing. Is there reasoning for this? Surely this cant be happening to just myself…

    Thanks so much!

Try .tga. .psd, or .tiff files instead of .png. I’m guessing there’s a problem with the alpha channel on your png’s.
