  FCP ProRes Branding from GoPro footage

  Hi, I recently did a little timelapse video with a GoPro hero 3 on my car.

  1440×3000 pictures put into GoPro Cineform studio in order to make a timelapse video and exported from there making a MOV file.

  Then, I used Mpeg Streamclip to convert it to Apple ProRes 422 HQ (is this even necessary?) and get it into Final Cut 7.

  I edited it, and exported quicktime conversion from FCP as Apple ProRes 422 HQ.

  Now the export is darker (I’ve noticed this other times and projects and have attributed to Gamma issues something or other… haha) and has banding issues specifically in the blue sky. I guess that’s what it’s called, like contour lines in the sky. I know this is because of compression things happening and all that but…

  … How can I keep full quality throughout the entire process and have the final export exactly the same as what the camera captured??? What is the work flow to achieve this?

  P.S. I’m trying to upload a 20 sec clip of the project to show what I’m talking about.
