  • seq match orig but still have to render audio?

Posted by Paul Dougherty on August 6, 2013 at 2:35 pm

Sorry – old newbie question – I’ve been away from FCP(7) for a while and am working with ProRes Qts that have 16bit 48k audio. I start a seq and have FCP match the original, yet even though the Seq settings affirm 16/48k I still have to render audio in the TL. Why and is there anything I can do to avoid the constant rendering?

    Thanks,

    Paul

Are the files WAV / AIFF or MP3?
Final Cut 7 can’t deal with MP3s, they always need rendering unless you convert them first.

What Simon said. It’s often much more time efficent (for me, at least) to convert all .MP3 files to .WAVs before bringing them in FCP so that I don’t have to deal with rendering constantly.
