  resizing in fcp7

  I have used fcp7 to edit a music video. I have been asked to resize the video for the band’s website to strange dimensions 700×484. How do I do this without the quality degenerating? I have already tried it in Compressor using an exported pro res 422 file but the result is pixellated to the extreme. Any help gratefully rceived. Thanks, Wystan.

  Websites don’t use ProRes…so don’t do that. Use H.264. Or, ask them, or the web master what EXACT compression they want. Frame size is one aspect…further details are needed.

  You will also need to crop the picture.
  Whatever the footage aspect ratio is (4×3 or 16×9) the image will be distorted if you just scale it to 700×484 without cropping.
