I got a new Macbook and am working on putting a new reel together.
The problem I am having with some of the clips is the “General Error Out of Memory,” which usually happens with incompatible video formats.
I know these videos should be compatible with FCP, since I made them, and used them, in FCP on my older macbook.

I’m guessing i’m missing some codecs or something, and “Genreal Error” doesn’t help me figure out what they could be.

    Any suggestions?

The clips are h.264 and I’m using the same version of FCP I used on the original edits, version 7.

ProRes. H.264 is unpredictable in FCP. It might work…it might not. And when it doesn’t, a variety of things can go wrong…there isn’t one set thing that doesn’t work. Best to convert to ProRes.
