I am working on a project for a few days now and my final cut crashed. I started it up and it started in the default screen setting. I tried to open up my project and it wasn’t there. I went into m auto save and the last auto save was from when i finished last night. I opened it and the auto save carries on from there. it loads but tells me now that my media is offline! What have I done and how can I fix it?

I have reattached the offline media but the time line files still state that it is offline? Am I going crazy? Can all this happen from a crash? Any preventive medicine?

I have scoured the forums and called all I thought that could help me.

Is the media on the timeline actually offline (as in, it says it’s offline when you play in the canvas), or is it just showing the offline thumbnail on each clip in the sequence.

If the sequence clips are offline, reconnect them again by highlighting the clips and select reconnect.

If it’s the thumbnails, close FCP, and delete your thumbnail cache.
