I know that if I start editing a project with FCP 6.0.6 I can take it to 7.0, but I won’t be able to bring it back. If I log and captured to an external HD, using FCP 6.0.6, and then opened the project with 7, would all the files still be logged or would I need to render everything?

I’m asking because tomorrow I’m starting a new project and the editing suite at the studio has 6.0.6. I only have version 7.0 on my personal copy, and since I don’t have firewire OR SD slot on my 09 Macbook (how stupid is that??) I was planning on logging the footage to the studio’s computer, and then transferring the files to my computer.

Unfortunately I don’t know the type of digital camera they’re using, just that i’m getting the footage on cards, which I can log with FCP.

    Thanks for any info.
