  HD To SD?

  Hi,
  I have a problem converting HD to SD. The specs on the timeline that i edited in are:

  1) Snow leopard
  2) my timeline in fcp 7.03 is HD 1440×1080
  3) timeline compressor is HDV 1080i50
  4) field dominance is upper

  When i export the mov and bring it back into fcp7 on a Apple prores 422( HQ) timeline with a frame size of DV PAL 5:4 what should the field dominance be on the new timeline in order for it not to look de-interlaced on a television. Also if this is not the right thing to do what is?

  The problem is the text looking pixelated and jaggy when i play the video on a HD Bravia tv… Could it be the fact that i tested a sd file on a HD TV, or are the lines there because of field dominance?

  After your edit is locked.

  Change the sequence codec to prores422.
  Render ALL/Full.

  Export “Current Settings”

  Drop that file into Compressor to create your DVD ready files.
