  Can I create a 10 second OVERLAP (not dissolve) in Final Cut Express?

  I’m not sure what you’re asking. Can you play the last 10 seconds of clip 1 while clip 2 is playing?
  Yes, use V2 for Clip 2 and audio tracks 3+4.
