H.264 in Final Cut Express 3.5
I’m pretty new to film post production so bare with me. I’ve started making short videos for the company I work for that we then upload to youtube. All we have at work is FCExpress 3.5 and they aren’t will to upgrade yet. My problem is when I export my video for web I can’t get the quality I want.
When I use Quicktime conversion H.264 the colors and contrast come out very bland. It’s like it just sucks the color right out.
If I use Quicktime conversion photo-jpeg the colors and contrast come out great, but then after youtube processes it it blows all the highlights out.for example: here is the h.264 version of a video https://youtu.be/_AZMadieuhQ
and here is a photo jpeg version
https://youtu.be/Ce9XUSIkQCoand yes the place I work is kinda weird, but it’s a job.
Is the h.264 codec in FCE 3.5 just old and outdated? Will upgrading to FCE 4 help?
