    Hi!

I’ve been having random glitches in some of my renders in AE CS3.

This particular glitch only happens with Footage that I’ve imported, such as a QuickTime movie. When I view a render that glitches, the affected footage flashes back and forth to the colored bars that appear when one has missing footage.

I’ve seen this problem in 8.0.2, possibly in 8.0.1 and 8.0.0

The only workaround I’ve found is to simply re-render my comp in exactly the same manner as before. The problem is then usually fixed. But this is still not ideal, since it is a big waste of my time.

Has anyone encountered this problem? Any ideas?

    Thanks!

What codec is your footage encoded with?

    It’s all Animation Compression.

All of our SD footage comes out of the Avid using Avid Meridian. It then comes to us as an OMF, which we import via Automatic Duck (which we then convert to Lossless Animation Compression Quicktime movies).

All of our HD footage comes out of the Avid using Avid DNxHD (I believe). It then comes to us as an AAF, which we import via Automatic Duck (which we then also convert to Lossless Animation Compression Quicktime movies).
