Warning-Dropped Frames
My sequence gives me the dropped frames warning once it reaches the end. It also jumps on each cut.
Im using QT files shot w a 5D. So they are 1080p 24 H.264 files.
My system is FCP 7.03
OSX 10.6.6
12 core westmere @ 2.66 per core
12gb Rams
ESata on a dual raid drive with about 1.8TB avaSo really I dont know why this is happening.

What do you expect from a format not supported by your NLE?
Try setting your sequence codec Prores.

Well changing my sequnce to Pro res did fix the problem but now I have to render before I can see anything.
Blah. I told them not to use the 5D or any DSLR for that matter.
Why wouldnt it read these files nativly if they are H264 and quicktime is an apple codec. Heck my fcp read them as H264

Hi Alberto,
This is the official list of supported formats:
https://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/specs/#finalcutpro
As you can see H264 is not there.
A non supported format by definition can’t gives you RT, but you can make that work smoothly.
Try setting “Unlimited RT’ and “Playback video quality: Dynamic”. You won’t have frames dropped, but the preview quality will be lower.
