I’m going blind looking at old posts. I have a HDR-FX1 sony that shoots 1080i and my go pro shoots 1080p. I need them both in the same project to be delivered in BluRay. I have FCP7. I have read that I need to convert one of these and most likely from what I gather it gets to be the 1080i footage I need to change. If so, how so? Does my version of FCP have a way to handle this issue?

    Thanks in advance.

    Craig,

What frame rates was it shot with? BluRay can be 1080p24 or 1080i30.

If they were both shot at 30, I’d just go interlaced and call it a day (the interlaced footage will look fine on a 1080 player.)

At 24? Graham Nattress makes an excellent set of plugins to help handle footage problems like this inside of FCP.

    Hi Jeff,
I guess frame rates would have been helpful for you to know . The Sony shoots 1080i60 and the GoPro shoots 1080p30. I haven’t heard of this plug in. Do you have a link where I can get it? Life is short and there’s no sense re-inventing the wheel if this plug in allows me to throw different stuff in the timeline and get to editing. Thanks.
