  • Dropped Frame warning: Says to lower RT ?? What to do/

Hi folks, I just received an error msg while working on this project that says that it has been determined that the dropped frames that are occurring are due to low speed. (I am so sorry but I cannot recall precisely and I already closed the msg window) They suggest that I reduce the RT (Layers?). I have not a clue to what they are referring. I have a 27″ iMac, and I am using a La Cie Rugged external drive for the project (everything is on that drive and there is nothing else on the drive. I am not making a huge movie…though this project that is giving me so much grief is very important! I do have 7 sequences going but I am not sure if that is even pertinent info. I’d be so appreciative for any guidance here. I am so grateful for all the help folks have offered me along the way here.

Oh…I am using a 400 firewire…of course, since iMac does not have 800 and I have yet to set it up to accommodate such.

    Thanks

I’ve lowered the playback quality to meduim using the RT drop down menu for starters.

Try closing all sequences but the one you’re working on.

In your system settings = RT playback set to safe?
