  ProRes 422 File Sizes?

  Are ProRes 422 sizes supposed to be huge? I recently recorded some video onto my HD video camera and converted it from AVCHD to ProRes 422. After the conversion, I found out that ProRes was taking up 1GB for every minute or two of HD footage (1920×1080).

  Because of this, I’m starting to worry that my 2TB hard drive is going to fill up pretty quickly from all of these ProRes files and that I’m going to have to spend my money on a RAID setup pretty quickly! I know that hard drive prices are cheap today, but even still, I don’t want to spend my money on hard drive space but rather on other equipment!

  You should invest in a HardDrive Dock then you can edit on your portable hard drive. Then back up and offload on a internal drive. Costs a lot less, they run about 60$ for 320GB for a Laptop Hard Drive.
