    Greetings Creative Cow Community,

Looking for some collective wisdom on a new project I am starting.
I’ll be shooting in Australia for six weeks with a Sony EX1R and Canon 5d
I’ve had recent success with previous projects with foreign (PAL) distribution so I would like to shoot in 23.98 on the EX1r. Not sure I understand the 23.98 psf

I’ll be editing in FCP and would like to create a master for both HD NTSC(60i) distribution and HD Foreign distribution (50I?)

So if I shoot in the 23.94psf mode it means segmented frames, and is native ie no pull down. So when my master is complete I can create a pal HD 50I master and a NTSC 60i master with minimal conversion.
The files I import into fcp will not have pull down.

If I shoot in 23.98 60I mode the output files from the EX1r are processed out of the camera with with the 3 2 pulldown.

Been lurking here for years and welcome any comments.
I know I can shoot the whole thing in 1080 60I and pay for an Alchemist PAL conversion but am considering this option as my first indie project was on the F900 in the 23.94 frame rate and i do like the look as well.
Thanks in advance for anyone who wants to contribute
    Mike
