    Hi,

Still learning my way around Final Cut so this may sound like a silly question… I’m planning to shoot a B&W video and want to add some effects to make it look old. While doing some research I came across a tutorial on cgmonline.com and how to get plug-ins to get the desired ‘old movie’ effect. I checked my Final Cut Express 4 for any such plug-in options (as it mentions that an older version in FCE as well) in the video transition section, but I don’t seem to have the FxScript DVEs they’re talking about and buying it at this point in time is rather unlikely.
However, I can hire a computer (for a few hours) with the FCP 6 already installed (should have all the plug-ins I need, well, I hope), but not sure whether if I saved any work I did with FCE 4 on a disk or key, worked more on a project on a different Mac with FCP 6 and then went back to FCE 4 would create any issues… could anybody advise on this.

    thanks

    Mirela

CGM has a free old film plugin

    https://www.cgm-online.com/cgi-bin/dve_downloadcount.pl

It is not part of FCP6.

While you can open a project made in FCE in FCP, you cannot open a project saved in FCP in FCE.

    All the best,

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

thanks for the advice. I’ve tried downloading CGM Aged Film LE v2.5.7 but when I do so I get an error message. Also, the download time is very, very short. Is that normal?

    Kind Regards,
    Mirela

You should contact CGM if you have a problem with their web site.

    All the best,
