Basically, I am picking up a project that is very close to completion. The original editor is in France and unreachable at the moment. The project utilizes footage shot on multiple types of cameras which the previous editor had converted. The entire sequence is in 1280 x 720, save for one clip of Broll which is at 1980 x 1260. In the sequence, everything plays just fine but after exporting to a 640 x 360 QT file, the audio under the 1980 x 1260 footage drops out. I have never seen this before and am just trying to grasp what is going on.

I’ve no idea why the audio drops out. I’d try a couple of things. Do an audio mixdown: Sequence Menu > Render Only > Mixdown and/or use Compressor to convert the footage to match the rest of the footage. Was any audio attached to the problem clip? Perhaps it’s out of phase and cancels in your export. This would be more likely if the export was mono audio while you monitored the sequence in stereo.
