Inexpensive way to externally monitor 1080p/24fps timeline?
Mac Pro 2009, Final Cut Pro 7- I’m trying to externally view Canon HDV24F (native 1080p/24fps) video in my Final Cut Pro timeline of the same. I will not drop the footage into a different type of timeline. At this time, I am not doing advanced HD capture, nor doing critical color work, nor do I care about the judder created by added pulldown frames. I just want to use an inexpensive external monitor to view the 1080p/24fps timeline, preferrably on my 1080×1920/60hz LCD computer monitor, which can accept a 1080p or 1080i signal via DVI or HDMI. I know of the various BlackMagic, Matrox and Kona card/box solutions, but they are $800-1200 plus the monitor cost. I can’t believe there is nothing like a BlackMagic Intensity Pro that would also add pulldown to get it to 60fps just for monitoring. What other options are out there that I am not seeing?
