ProRes 422 or 422HQ
Posted by Joe Orange on December 18, 2009 at 10:15 amHi there,
I’m converting Red One footage shot at 4K into ProRes 422, but not sure whether 422HQ is better suited.Any pointers gratefully appreciated.

Go always to the less compressed format that you can afford.

December 18, 2009 at 12:50 pmAnything 1080 or smaller, you should use ProRes.
Anything larger than 1080 you should use HQ.

Prores HQ could be a waste when capturing SD, but not when going up from there.
