Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy missing file

  • Posted by Mark Barroso on November 11, 2009 at 4:37 pm

I export my file to compressor and it says I have a missing file. I search (apple+ F)the browser, the timeline and even the entire computer and can’t find it. I scroll through the timeline looking for a “Missing Media” thumbnail and there is none. From researching here I understand it could be in a render file. I don’t think (but possible) it is in a nested sequence because those sequences are of an entirely different scene.

I re-rendered the sequence in case it makes a difference.

Any ideas of what’s going on? If my sequence looks fine, can I just ignore the warning? What’s the fix or work around if I can’t find the file to re-connect it?

You can use Render Manager to delete your renders and then re-render, to see if that helps. Or first, try exporting a ref or self-contained QT with current settings. See if Compressor will run with that file.

Thanks, John. I’m in the process of doing your first option and it seems to be working, although I have to re-capture some clips.
