Exporting 16:9 movies for viewing on computers and Internet
Hi Creative Cow FCP Team,
SUBJECT: EXPORTING 16:9 MOVIES FOR VIEWING ON COMPUTERS AND INTERNET
I’ve been hunt-n-pecking through the export process…a very timely venture. I only have today to pull my video homework off to keep for a portfolio, so I need to work quickly.
A FEW DETAILS:
I have multiple projects saved on FCP timelines. I’m working on a Mac in the university’s lab. My audiences will be mostly PC users. I really don’t like the “interlaced?” lined look when the movies I’ve made play on the computer.1 I need to make movies available to play on primarily PC/Windows computers via
- JUMP DRIVE – [my problem: Windows Media player either doesn’t read .mov or has no sound]
- DVD – [my problem: after exporting via “make QuickTime movie” and burning using iDVD – movies are pixelated, transitions choppy]
2 I need to make movies available to play on primarily Internet Explorer via
- WEBSITE – embedded video on a web page [I plan to build a website using a content source management system [CMS] template]
- YOUTUBE [want the best format for a movie that will upload with quick start, is as clear as possible, has smoother transitions]
3 When I’m not in such a rush I want to study up on this, please recommend some tutorials etc.
Moo team, thanks!
