I’ve always exported to mpeg2 file using Quicktime Conversion, but I’ve recently discovered I do not have this option in Quicktime any more. I painstakingly re-installed Final Cut Studio 2, thinking something got corrupted, but this did not solve the problem. Any suggestions?

    My system:
    MacPro
    Mac OS 10.5.8
    Quicktime 7.6.2

MPEG-2 has not been available in QuickTime for some time. I think the went with 7.3 or something. You have to use Compressor for MPEG-2 encoding.

    All the best,

Thanks for your quick response. I had upgraded from Final Cut Studio 1 a few months ago, and I know for sure FCS1 & QT gave the option for mpeg2. I never used Compressor, but I guess now I’ll need to use it.
