Don’t know why it did not render correctly?
Hi all,
A strange thing just occurred. I rendered a small 8 second comp that I took from a Premiere project.I copied the clip from Premiere and then pasted it in to AE as a layer.This part no problem.I then animated a Lightning effect for about 5 seconds .It previewed just fine in AE so I rendered it out and imported the final render to Premiere.When I played it in Premiere the clip started to look fine until the effect was to take place as I just got colored bars in the viewer ,and could not see anything of the clip..I have CS3 for both Premiere and AE.
Any thoughts?

Very interesting…..I copied the clip in Premiere and opened new project in AE in the exact length of the clip.I then created new layer and upon doing so I pasted the Premiere clip.But now I think about it, I might have deleted said layer ,However, if I did delete it was still there to work with .In fact, the original clip was 58 seconds and upon putting the effect I clipped it to the work area of 9 seconds.. Maybe I deleted the empty new layer.Well,I did send it to be rendered and so it is…I will try to open it in AE.

I imported same footage vs.copy and paste and this time it worked..I will say ,however,unless I read it incorrectly in the “help files in AE’,there are directions how to copy and paste a file from Premiere to AE…Well,I followed the directions and the file did paste in AE but did not render properly…F.W.I.W.

You can copy and paste, but I have had some issues with that as well.
However, you can save your Premiere project file and open it in AE (File > Import > File… Choose Premiere project). I sometimes edit that way – laying out my video in premiere and then bringing it into AE for motion graphics stuff. Much easier to edit this way because I can watch the video in real-time with no ram preview.
