  how to export at less file size but full quality

  hi everybody,

  i m using FCP installed in imac i.e. no capture card is installed in the machine, now toady i exported a 2 min 10 sec movie with sound in .mov format which size 469 mb. Now i can’t figure out how a 2 min mov can make so much file size. my format is DV Pal
  detail of easy setup
  format; Pal
  use: DV-Pal
  sequence preset: DV PAL48 kHz
  Capture Preset: DV PAL 48 kHz
  Device Control Preset: FireWire Pal
  Playback Output Video: Apple FireWire PAL (720×576)
  Playback Output Audio: FireWire Dv
  Edit to Tape/PTV Output Video: Same as Playback
  Edit to Tape/PTV Output Audio: Same as Playback

  The file size sounds about right if you exported full DV PAL format. There’s no such thing as “less file size but full quality.”

  If you want to compress the file, you will start to lose quality. What do you need to to with the finished movie file?

  Hi Walter Biscardi, Jr.

  first of all thanku for replying, now about ur Q, i main purpose is to upload it to our company website “https://www.edterra.com” so that our client can watch it. i want to figure the file size and quality balance setting so that in the frame size of 320/240 it must not loose its quality and also streaming must not be stress full job oh i forgot to mention that the .mov film will be converted to flash video.

  What you want to do is use your exported DV movie as the source to encode your Flash (flv) movie. Use an encoder that can use the On2VP6 codec. And, use 2-pass encoding. That will give you the best result. Choose the highest data rate viewers of your site can handle. You can also export a reference movie (do not check “make self-contained) which will be smaller in size than your self-contained DV movie.
